Direction from God
December 9, 2011
Four years ago, this coming February, I was experiencing career dissatisfaction and lack of meaning in my work. I knew that there was something that God wanted me to do, but I wasn’t sure what that might be. It was frustrating to say the least.
In late February of 2008, I began sending out hundreds and hundreds of emails for prayer regarding this issue (between 400 and 500). I sent these prayer requests to churches, ministries and individuals all over the country and, literally, all over the world. The Lord would do some amazing things in the months to follow.
In mid-April of 2008, I received an email from a minister in California (I live in Florida) about a revival that had just started about an hour from where I live. I first stepped into the church where this awakening was occurring on April 14 of that year. I felt the power and presence of God in that place like I had not felt in a long time (maybe never). God had answered my prayer because out of that revival would come a scholarship to seminary and, eventually, the internship in evangelism with my home church.
I am a living testimony that God answers prayer. Jesus told us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). I can testify that this Scripture is true. If you need direction from the Lord, He will show you the way.
