Love a Child

Jesus said, “‘For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me’” (Matthew 25:35-40).
Lately, the Lord has been speaking to me about helping the poor and hungry. And when I read these preceding verses of Scripture, they really “grip” me and help me to see the great need of not only the salvation of souls but also the urgency for those having physical needs.
One ministry that I can recommend is the Love a Child foundation of Bobby and Sherry Burnette. They help to feed the hungry in the nation of Haiti, and they are, truly, doing the Lord’s work.
An eight-dollar donation (which isn’t that much, by the way) provides 216 meals for the Haitian people. That is truly amazing. I mean, two cups of coffee at Starbucks costs about that much. Can I really afford not to help? The answer is, “no.”
Check out their website, and see for yourself what this ministry is accomplishing. You won’t be sorry.
