John Hagee- Blood Red Moon

January 6, 2013

Today, on TBN, Pastor John Hagee finished his series on The Coming Four Blood Moons. He took his sermon text from the book of Revelation, chapter nineteen.

In this message, he looked at nations, both, in the Bible and in modern-times that have turned their backs on God. Pastor Hagee said, “Let us return to the God of our Fathers.”

But in a hopeful tone (for the Christian), he stated, “Shout for Joy; the King is coming!” This brought a great roar from the congregation at the home church in San Antonio, Texas.

Pastor Hagee also said, “Let there be a revival of righteousness!” I echo his sentiments. Without a change for the United States, we look to collapse economically, militarily, socially and otherwise. Let’s pray for our leaders that they will lead us back to Jesus and His precepts.

In this series, it has been revealed that there will be four lunar eclipses (blood red moons) on Passover 2014, Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) 2014, Passover 2015 and again on Sukkot 2015.  This has happened only three times in the last 500 years:  1967 (Six Day War), 1948 (the establishment of Israel as a nation) and 1492 (the expulsion of Jews from Spain).

Pastor Hagee, however, did not set a date for the Lord’s return.  He did state that the signs in the heavens let us know that Jesus is coming soon!

I Timothy 2:1-4 says, (NIV) “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and please God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

I am very guilty of speaking out against those in leadership, not approving what is taking place in Washington DC. I realize now that in the Scripture above we are instructed to give thanks for everyone in authority. In this present day this is hard to do, but nevertheless, we must, because that is His will. Complaining is not going to bring change, and information about what is happening is vital for our prayer life, so we can’t bury our heads in the sand.

The promise is a peaceful and quiet life, so men can come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!

This is and will prove to be another false prophecy by another false prophet. These guys always give themselves an out, in order to protect their reputation and income.

Acts chapter two gives the clear meaning of the blood moon and how to apply it to the last days. It is to accompany the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all flesh in the last days. No more no less.
An understanding of the ancient principles of covenant making in scripture reveals that witnesses were often called upon to validate the promises of the covenant made between two parties. God often used the heavens to be witnesses as to the validity of the covenant he made with man or with Himself. For example, The sun standing still so that God could fulfill his covenant with the Gibeonites in Joshua ten.
When it was time for Israel to be delivered from Egypt because of Gods promise to Abraham, God used the heavens and earth to be witness for Israel and against Egypt.
When God gives signs in the heavens it is usually to remind the inhabitants of earth, about his covenant pledges that he cannot and will not break. In the case of the blood moon, Peter made it explicitly clear that it was associated with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days.
These so called end-times “prophets” have been wrong so often It amazes me that anyone listens to them at all!

    • Hi Dan,

What John Hagee has said, regarding the blood moon tetrads, is that something “big” has happened to the Jewish nation the last three times this has occurred. For example, the Jews were expelled from Spain (1492) as part of the Spanish Inquisition. Secondly, the nation of Israel was established (1948) about the time of four blood moons in a two-year period. And, lastly, during the time of the Six-Day War (1967), there was another series of lunar eclipses. He is saying, in effect, to be “on the lookout” for something to happen that would affect Israel. He did not set a date as to the return of the Lord.

      God bless you,

    • Hello again, Dan,

On your interpretation of Joel’s prophecy and of Peter’s alluding to it on The Day of Pentecost, you left out the final part of it. It says clearly, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come” (Joel 2:31). The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit signaled the beginning of the last days. The blood moon and other signs in the heavens signal the ending of the last days. Jesus, himself, said, “‘And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring'” (Luke 21:25). No, we don’t know the “day or the hour,” but Jesus gave us unmistakable signs that would precede the Rapture of the Church and, also, of His Second Coming. I hope this clears everything up for you.

      God bless you, again,

  11. ” Let’s pray for our leaders that they will lead us back to Jesus and His precepts.” That needs to be said over and over and over. In the political circus called Congress, it is the only power on earth that can change the course of history.

    • Hello again, Glen. Unfortunately, our politicians have abandoned the faith, for the most part. But when revival comes, it’s going to change. Praise God! I enjoyed visiting your site also.
