Des Moines Register Endorses Romney
October 28, 2012
Despite “strong arm” tactics by the President, with statements like, “I want your endorsement…..You’ll feel better when you give it,” the Des Moines Register did not “cave.” They are endorsing Mitt Romney for president. Can you imagine if George Bush, John McCain or Ronald Reagan had made that kind of statement to a newspaper? It would have been an outrage.
The paper writes, “Voters should give Mitt Romney a chance to correct the nation’s fiscal course and to implode the partisan gridlock that has shackled Washington and the rest of America — with the understanding that he would face the same assessment in four years if he does not succeed.”
Iowa could play a large role in determining who occupies the White House for the next four years. The advisors to the Democrat incumbent have to be incensed over the Des Moines Register’s rebuff of their candidate. Hopefully, Iowa voters will respond en masse with a vote for Mitt Romney.
